Cover Oregon is the name for Oregon’s Health Care Exchange as part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Cover Oregon is implementing a staged launch plan and starting October 1, 2013 individuals and small businesses will be able to apply for health insurance through Cover Oregon certified insurance agents, community partners or Tribal organizations.
Later in October Cover Oregon is projecting, all Oregonians will be able to apply online without the assistance of community partners or agents, if desired. Theresa Nelson, Deby Butzer and Bill Wilson are certified with Cover Oregon, and we are ready to help you navigate the process of Cover Oregon.
Individuals and small businesses who visit CoverOregon.com will be referred to community partners through a searchable database. Consumers will be able to search by name, city, zip code and a number of other factors. It is our goal to make connecting consumers with a community partner as simple as possible.
Community partners will have access to the Cover Oregon portal from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff at the Cover Oregon Service Center will be available to answer questions and report any issues to our technical staff.
To report a problem, call: 1-855-CoverOR (1-855-268-3767) from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
PROTECT YOURSELF FROM FRAUD
With any new high-profile program, there are scam artists who take advantage of change or confusion. Please be wary that people may pose as Cover Oregon representatives to collect fraudulent fees, sell fake insurance or steal personal identity. Some imposters may prey on the elderly by asking for personal information because of upcoming changes to Medicare.
Help your community avoid fraud by sharing these consumer tips and find more information online:
- Do not pay for help applying.
- Check the Cover Oregon web site to verify an agent or community partner is certified by Cover Oregon.
- Protect health care and financial information.
- Cover Oregon does not offer Medicare.
Whether you are a small business owner or an individual you can ONLY get tax credit/premium assistance through Cover Oregon. Please feel free to call us to see if you qualify.
